Another life lost in the “Women’s Lives Cut Short” series.

 

For every year the person has lived I try to draw their picture for an equivalent minute. But I prioritise the art of ensuring they still look like them, with their soul and their essence present. However, the picture will always be incomplete, as they did not live their whole lives out as they should have.​​​

 

Aliny was 39 when her life was cut short.

Mother-of-four Aliny was murdered by her then ex husband, whom stabbed her multiple times in the chest and neck as she went to collect her children from school. He did this to "punish her for leaving him".​

 

Aliny's family described her as a loving and incredible mother to her children.​

 

This drawing is far from completion, it shouldn't be this way. Her life shouldn't have stopped at only 39 years due to an abuser.

 

Her four children shouldn't be without their mother.
