Another life lost in the “Women’s Lives Cut Short” series.
For every year the person has lived I try to draw their picture for an equivalent minute. But I prioritise the art of ensuring they still look like them, with their soul and their essence present. However, the picture will always be incomplete, as they did not live their whole lives out as they should have.

Asma was 31 when her life was cut short.

Asma was murdered by her then husband, whom stabbed her in the neck and face in excess of 60 times.

Asma's family described her as loving, caring and always filled a room with laughter.
This drawing is far from completion, it shouldn't be this way. Her life shouldn't have stopped at only 31 years due to an abuser.
Asma Begum, 31
