Another life lost in the “Women’s Lives Cut Short” series.

 

For every year the person has lived I try to draw their picture for an equivalent minute. But I prioritise the art of ensuring they still look like them, with their soul and their essence present. However, the picture will always be incomplete, as they did not live their whole lives out as they should have.​​​

 

Elize was 50 when her life was cut short. 

​

Elize was murdered by her partner, whom stabbed her in excess of 86 times. Her partner claimed to do this "in fear of her leaving".​

 

She was described as a warm and friendly person.

 

This drawing should be full of colour, it shouldn't have stopped at 50 minutes. Her life shouldn't have stopped at 50 years due to an abuser.

 

No life should ever be taken prematurely by an abuser.
