Ellie Gould, 17
Another life lost in our “Women’s Lives Cut Short” series.
For every year the person has lived I try to draw their picture for an equivalent minute. But I prioritise the art of ensuring they still look like them, with their soul and their essence present. However, the picture will always be incomplete, as they did not live their whole lives out as they should have.
Ellie was 17 when her life was cut short.

Ellie was murdered by her partner, whom strangled her and stabbed her in excess of 13 times in the neck.
Ellie's mum described her as a bubbly girl who always had a smile on her face. This drawing doesn't have a shred of colour, it shouldn't be this way.

Her life shouldn't have stopped at only 17 years due to an abuser. No life should ever be taken prematurely by an abuser.
More needs to be done.
