Another life lost in our “Women’s Lives Cut Short” series.
For every year the person has lived I try to draw their picture for an equivalent minute. But I prioritise the art of ensuring they still look like them, with their soul and their essence present. However, the picture will always be incomplete, as they did not live their whole lives out as they should have.
Jayde was 26 when her life was cut short.

Jayde was murdered by her then ex partner, whom stabbed her repeatedly. He did this after Jayde split up with him and told him to move out. He then in final act of control killed himself in prison.

She was described as a loving daughter and mother. Jayde leaves behind an 8 year old son, who was in the house at the time of her murder.

This drawing should be full of colour, it shouldn't have stopped at 26 minutes. No life should ever be taken prematurely by an abuser.
